Imagine you are a start-up entrepreneur with an innovative product, however, production is moving slower than you anticipated and pre-orders are going to be stalled. To manage customer expectations, you reach out to a PR firm for help. It is in your best interest to be upfront with your new PR team.

What would be the worst information to give the PR team?

Now, imagine your business previously worked with a manufacturer who is now under investigation for safety violations. Though they made the earliest models of your product, you no longer work with them or distribute products they manufacture. 

Your new PR team suggests being upfront about your past connections, but emphasizing your current separation. Why?

In order to tell the truth more, we need to consider why we choose to lie. Reflect on a time when you told an unnecessary lie or unnecessarily withheld something negative. What kept you from being honest?
